Review on Enhanced Edifier Exclaim E10 Bi-Amped 2.0 Speaker System by Aaron Carney

Revainrating 5 out of 5

READ THIS IF YOU CONCERN WITH SOUND QUALITY!

I have a lot of experience with all types of high quality audio equipment, including speakers. These speakers have MULTIPLE audio drivers. The correct term "audio driver" is a crossover system that sends/converts specific frequency ranges to the appropriate speakers in a bank of speakers in a single enclosure. In this case, however, they are not in a special case, but in a special design intended for desktop use. Before I go any further I want to make something very clear; These aren't the best speakers I've heard, but the reviews here are clearly written by people who have no idea what they're talking about. These speakers CAN be extremely loud, offer phenomenal bass, great soundstage, crisp clean highs, punchy mids and an overall sound like a great speaker set. However, these are very RAW speakers, meaning they don't try to do something good that doesn't sound good to begin with. You need a good audio source if you want to get the most out of them. This means a high-quality audio file with a high bitrate, a computer or phone that supports reasonable sample rates, and a configuration that delivers balanced audio. I hooked them up to a great sound card on my computer and my phone has a Dolby Atmos DAC. There are also volume knobs on these speakers, but they work more like power dials and need to be turned at least half way to expect adequate amplitude of all frequencies. Also note their purpose. They are designed and tuned as desktop speakers; They won't fill a large room with rich sound, they won't sound magically good wherever you put them, they can't drive people crazy on the street, and they won't impress you if you're looking for a PA -level- Sound in a compact body. (which is impossible). On the other hand, if you're sitting at a table, align them at head height and the correct distance apart, set them on a suitable surface such as a hollow box with holes or foam-lined shelves (preferably with a wall behind). ) and play it into an audio file not copied from YouTube, focused audio will sound amazing for that size. I have my settings in the best way imaginable and when they turn on they physically shake my chest. Well, I don't expect most people to be able to do that with them, but simply plugging them into an iPhone with CD quality music should give you about 70% of their capabilities, assuming you're at your desk. So the most important thing to know is that these are NOT bookshelf speakers and are not designed for home theater use. This is for a desktop computer. If you want them for desktop, BUY THIS. You will not be disappointed. If you literally want them for something else, you will most likely be disappointed. They're great for a kid in their room too, but they can be a little pricey and probably won't be priced right. All in all, I won't give them a 5/5 for sound quality because I've heard the best desktop audio, but I think the reviewers are on the wrong side of things because I literally have no idea how they got there to such grim conclusions. . . I haven't heard anything like this in this price range, especially since they often sell for $70 or $80. And if someone else had done it before, they wouldn't buy them, would they? No, they will use what they already have or they will compare it to the same columns. Personal tip: Buy cable management boxes and stack them on top. The bass reverberates through them like a perforated speaker and they raise the speakers to head height. Position them equal distances from you and away from you, and aim straight ahead as if you're shooting past each of your ears. Then use your sound card software (if you have it) to align them correctly. If you're literally looking for the best internal sound card, look no further than the SoundBlaster AE-5. If you use ANY equalizer, remember not to go crazy with any values. This will seriously degrade sound quality and increase the risk of speaker failure.

Pros
  • Each speaker base section contains a 3" woofer and a 3" woofer.
Cons
  • So far so good
