product change? - Painting, Art Supplies

I don't know what happened to Rendr paper, but I really, really don't like what has changed. It used to be cotton, a really soft paper that applied so well with markers and was great for smudging and even layers of paint. Now the paper is waxy and something in the paper is literally separating the alcohol from the pigment in my markers causing those hideous watercolors to run, streaks that can't be blended and worst of all something in the paper isn't holding. the ink comes from a pen, so even my pens, which are designed to be protected from markers sweeping across them, smudge into nothing. I started this album and traced it with a waterproof fade-resistant archival sepia pencil and as soon as I started applying color the lines were completely smudged. I tried to salvage the piece with a black archival pen and yet the alcohol ink tore the lines right off the page. I know that Rendr paper has never had this problem, but it goes without saying that I would not buy this product again and would not recommend it to any artist who draws and colors their work with markers and pens.
