Review on 🚴 Platt Road Handlebar: Full Carbon Fiber 31.8mm Drop Bar - 400/420/440mm Bent Handlebar for Road Bicycles by Alex Tinker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Handlebars good value for money

On another bike I swapped out the original hard and stiff aluminum for remarkably flexible and forgiving Deda Superleggera carbon. You could tell from the first kilometer. Bought a second bike on a budget and decided to take a chance with these Platt Drop Bars. I normally ride 420mm (Deda 440mm) but at the time of purchase Revain only had 400mm and I'm glad I went with them as I now feel 400mm suits me better. They turn out one size smaller. than the Deda and they weigh 205g versus 195g for the Deda but they are still remarkably light. Of course, light weight also affects durability. But so far I've had no reason to doubt their safety. Grandpa is flexible. If you sit on the drops and twist your arms left and right, you can see the bars twist and give. Flat is absolutely hard. I had doubts about its ability to absorb road vibrations, but once I got out on the road I realized there was nothing to worry about. They are noticeably more responsive compared to the aluminum handlebar and come pretty close to the pricey Deda Superleggera. Since they don't have an airfoil like the top, I'm less worried about the failure that usually occurs during transition. from the round section of the rod to the thin section of the blade. I think the traditional round profile is safer and less risky to ride. In general I am very happy with them. They easily cost twice as much. Definitely costs 1/5 of grandfather.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Mostly good, but...
