EXACTLY what we were looking for

We recently upgraded our TV in the living room and wanted to move our old TV into the bedroom. The problem is that the big ol' TV in the Victorian bedroom is akin to installing a black hole on your wall - it sucks every decor molecule into its black rectangle and never releases it again. What to do? The obvious solution is to make it go away. We did. My wife's dressing table is at a slight angle and there was enough room behind it to put a TV. This lift turned out to be the most economical solution I could find. Yes, as other reviewers have noted, the included instructions are in Chinese, German, and English. English is generally gibberish. But there are videos on the internet and the assembly and assembly is actually pretty easy - even for a weirdo like me. I complicated the installation because I wanted the TV to match the angle that the vanity sits at so it faces more directly to the bed, so I cut a couple of wedges at a 16 degree angle and placed them with four wedges in between Lift and the wall installed inches. Self-tapping screws, not the included hardware. All in all - from unpacking to fully operational - I've spent around four hours of my time measuring and cutting corner wedges, drilling holes etc. And - at least part of the time - conscientious hero. My wife is just thrilled! As you can see in the video, when not in use, the TV is completely hidden behind the cabinet. Push the button and it will go up - quite abruptly I must say. When you get to it, it's a pretty basic app. You want your TV to turn on, you want it to turn off, you want operation to be stable and secure, and—best of all—you want to be able to do it with a wireless remote control. I don't know what other companies that make these things add that makes them 3 or more times more expensive but I can tell you that this lift appears to be very well built - there is nothing flimsy or cheap about it. It even comes with a wired remote as well as a wireless one - I don't know why, but it's there. The ascent is not fast - the video shows in real time from full descent to full extension. But who wants fast? There's a bit of drama when you see your TV rising gracefully out of nowhere. A solid, well built product that does exactly what you wanted it to do. Easy to set up - if you're willing to watch a few minutes of video to even out the instructions, which could have been written in Sanskrit. Excellent value for money. And a woman who now thinks you're a DIY god. Who could wish for more?
