My husband complained that the popcorn was "chewy". We tried many different brands but all proved tough. I searched the internet for the best popcorn makers and was even willing to shell out up to $100 for the West Bend brand. I found a review on several poppers and this one turned out to be the best, even surpassing the $130 West Bend popper. For only $20 I figured it was worth a try. We were amazed at how great it worked! You'll have to really "baby" it the first few times to see how long it lasts in your particular microwave, but once you figure that out, it's great! My husband even put in a few tablespoons of COLD seeded butter and the popcorn comes out covered in lightly toasted butter, nice and crispy. It's also true that you can take out the cracked kernels and put the unopened kernels back in the microwave, resulting in very little waste. Cleans well, easy to store, easy to use. I'll probably be buying some of these for white elephant gifts for Christmas parties this year!
