Any Betta owner knows that finding the right filter isn't easy. Sponge filters did not cope because the water stagnated and algae grew. The HOB filters were too strong even at the lowest settings. Most internal filters are noisy and have alarming suction power, otherwise the fish will get stuck behind them (Betta are big fans of getting wedged by any means). This filter has none of these problems. The current is perfect and makes for a nice little shower that keeps the water circulating without being too strong. Fish cannot be sucked into or trapped behind the internal water inlet. The filter is also not too loud - at least much quieter than my burners. Provides the soothing sound of a waterfall. This filter is probably too big for a sub 5 gallon aquarium, but perfect for 5-10 gallons.
