Great tool for light jobs

I used to work in a carpentry shop and drilled a lot of doors for clients. I had to come up with all sorts of aluminum mormyshki and special bits for this purpose. But now I'm working from home and replacing all 20 doors in the house. This clip is required for 20 doors. Just drilled #15 door handle. I initially had my doubts about how flimsy and plasticky this unit looks and feels. Let it sit for a month before you get up the courage to try it. I was very impressed with how it works. I notice that when I drill a 2-1/8" hole I always get a little black plastic cut out of the inner sleeve so the part wears out. But so far it hasn't been harmful. Use a 1" hole saw as the drill spindle will not come out of a 2-1/8" hole saw bit. We recommend that you purchase another 1" drill and have both ready to use with a pilot drill without spares. I use a 1" Forstner bit and it works great in this jig. Just make sure you are NOT drilling through the door with a 2-1/8" bit like I did. This fixed that Wood of the door split so badly I had to hide that side of the door. The instructions say to drill almost all the way through so that the center drill goes through and you drill through the other side with that center hole. Works well every time. I can't do this tool Recommend for more than 30 or 40 doors but for light use it does the job perfectly.

  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not bad but...
