Pretty flimsy and you need more parts to use it right away.

The desalination seems to be sliding down the slope, turning into tools of utterly poor quality. I bought this to insert some handles in solid core door panels. It looked better than the Lenox junk Lowe's sells, so I agreed with him. First, it's a 100% plastic screw in a yoke. Second, there is no hole saw arbor. So if you don't have an existing mandrel in your toolbox, you'll need to buy one. Probably about $12 extra. Being all plastic makes it more difficult to drill so you don't tear the…

Don't waste your money

This set should contain two mandrels because once you have used them to drill a hole for the doorknob they CANNOT be removed by the hole saw. I've followed other reviewers' advice and taken steps to make it easier to uninstall, but it turned out to be pointless as it can't be removed and several different people have tried unsuccessfully. You can't use a 1 inch hole saw without a mandrel. Completely unacceptable. Hole saws are good quality and the jig snaps securely into place without slipping,

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Boring pack

Works well - wish it had a door jamb marker.

This kit fits me well - be sure to measure the door and back carefully and adjust the fitting accordingly. I used a drill with a fork and it was powerful enough - you just had to be patient and let the tool do its job. If you are drilling a larger hole, drill one side until the pilot drill goes through the door, then drill the other side. Note: you don't have to remove the jig to drill through the other side, but it's a strong hold on the clamp - I removed the hole saw from the drill bit, put…

It worked. in door hardware and locks

Full disclosure, this was my first custom door installation so I am not a seasoned professional. I found the mount to be perfect for what it was designed for. There are no instructions, but there are a couple of decent YouTube videos. Although it is quite easy to use. The reason I think it's only 4 stars is because I'm concerned about the ability of the hole saws and mandrel to handle multiple jobs, which in my case is probably not a big deal. Follow some of the tips in the Q&A and lubricate…

Great tool for light jobs

I used to work in a carpentry shop and drilled a lot of doors for clients. I had to come up with all sorts of aluminum mormyshki and special bits for this purpose. But now I'm working from home and replacing all 20 doors in the house. This clip is required for 20 doors. Just drilled #15 door handle. I initially had my doubts about how flimsy and plasticky this unit looks and feels. Let it sit for a month before you get up the courage to try it. I was very impressed with how it works. I notice…

It works for what it's supposed to do.

This block is a template to align the latch in the correct places. IS NOT A HOLE DRILLING INSTRUCTION. And if you need a conductor, don't buy this device. I am a qualified plumber with over 35 years of experience. I'm not currently trading, so I don't have access to the $300 to $400 Kwikset fixtures I'm used to. But this device works well. You use it to start your holes and then remove it to finish drilling. That's what we did with the high-end Kwikset light. They do this because the friction…

Great gadget that takes the guesswork out

I'm renovating the entire house and replacing all the cheap luan hollow doors with solid maple door panels to make my own maple door jambs. This tool is great for drilling doorknob holes! There is a small window in the corner of the bracket so all you need to do is make a small pencil mark on the edge of the door where you want the handle to be centered. Then align the window with the arrow (there is another small round window) and pinch it. The clamp is strong and secure. The included hole…
