To be honest, my MOBO with AMD Athlon 2.5 GHz processor and 8 GB RAM was installed in 2009 but this device does not work as i installed it. I put it in the slot and turned on the case fans. After that I had to use an external power button to shut down the system. The adapter saw the Samsung SSD but insisted it was an IDE. After that, the system froze and I couldn't get into the Windows settings to adjust the SSD settings. This device might work for some, but it definitely doesn't work for me. I'm replacing my system with something newer.
