Finally a good stud finder! The display is large and bright, and the visual representation makes it easy to understand what you're looking at. Once you know the total search depth (I use 1 inch) press the two buttons on the side to calibrate it. When the two wave icons disappear, you're calibrated and can let go of the keys (which is better than many others I've used!). The display makes it easy to see when you're hitting the edge of the tip rather than the center. Then mark it and voila! Ready! I've installed all manner of shelving and supports in the weeks I've had this little unit, and it's a lot easier to use than the other three I have. It's accurate, lightweight, and generally does exactly what it's supposed to do. I am very happy!
