I am a busy mother of 3 adult children working, living and studying at home. I work part-time away from home (thankfully) and always wonder where the food goes while I'm at work. The solution I came up with is to prepare in advance and try to get ahead of the game. I've always tried to use the slow cooker whenever I could, but the thought of pulling that heavy thing out of the cupboard and then cleaning it just doesn't seem worth the hassle. The Crux Rice Steamer is the perfect solution for me. I've given this unit a permanent spot on the counter because I think I'll be using it often. Don't let the name "rice cooker" fool you. While it cooks rice to PERFECTION and takes the guesswork out of cooking by having different settings for different types of rice, it also makes a great slow cooker. I cooked a pot roast in 10 minutes, hit the slow cook button in the afternoon, closed the lid and dinner was ready in a couple of hours, heating up until it was time to eat. The pot is big enough to hold any meat or other dishes you want to cook. Did I mention GREAT DESIGN? It's a sleek and clean device. Cleaning was easy too. I wish there was a feature where you could choose between a longer or shorter slow cook time like traditional slow cookers, but that doesn't change the game. It's a very useful device with a very attractive appearance, very easy to use and clean. I also loved how you could cook an entire dinner in it using a steamer basket over a vegetable or protein pan. I look forward to trying many different recipes with my new Crux cooker!
