I bought this pad for my acrylic saltwater aquarium. This is an easy to use pad that removes algae from acrylic with ease. For stubborn stains, you may need to rub a little harder. A few things to note, while the pad hasn't scratched my acrylic, you need to be careful when cleaning near the base (sand/gravel/crushed coral) as shavings will get stuck in the pad and cause the acrylic can be scratched. Simple fix, I run my fingers between the acrylic and the backing and create a channel, then I can scratch under the backing line, when I'm done I just put the backing back in place. A larger tank will take more time, but this will prevent the substrate from hitting the substrate and causing scratches. Dimensions. Although Revain lists dimensions, they appear to be the size of a box, not the actual size of the pad. My pad measures 3"X3" and is about 1" thick. It fits my tank perfectly, you may want to buy a larger spacer for larger tanks. I rinse with warm tap water after each use (NO soap or detergent) .and then let it air dry.I hope this review helps some hobbyists.
