It's too strong for water pump accessories

I have a 75 gallon tank and it seems to be too strong, after turning it on and even setting it to the lowest flow my fish are concerned. I can't slow it down to the desired speed anymore. The flow control button works weird, you have to go all the way up to come down. The manual says to press the P&N button, but there isn't one. However, this appears to be a good pump for at least 90 gallons and up.
