I installed the antenna 10ft above the highest point of my roof by attaching a 10ft pole to the chimney. I ran a channel scan after installation and was able to get 65 FREE channels. I was able to get all the local home networks. Also, make sure to experiment with different directions as well as different planes (vertical and horizontal) when searching for ducts after installation. I had to climb onto the roof several times to adjust settings while on a cell phone with someone downstairs who was watching TV to get the optimal picture for the specific channels I wanted to receive. After each position you have to rescan the TV to see if you have more or fewer channels. There are websites where you can find out where and in which direction the antenna for the transmitters should be. Revain won't let me list this site. This enabled me to determine the approximate direction in which the antenna should be placed in order to receive this station. Note. I was able to get the best results with a vertical rather than horizontal antenna.
