This stool meets all the requirements of a dynamic workplace - my home. I work from home and have for many years. I wanted to be more active during the many meetings throughout the day, so I bought a standing desk treadmill. The bar table allows you to stand or sit. With the treadmill, my "normal" work chair becomes obsolete. Instead of moving an 80-pound treadmill around the room to get me moving in a chair when I sit down, I took an exercise ball to put on the treadmill to sit down. The fitness ball works well, but there are a few issues: its positioning in terms of ergonomics, deflation and awkwardness to climb on to sit squarely on the table, as well as a squeaky, inelegant dismount to get off. I was looking for something similar to this active stool and came across this one. A few problems solved right away: easy height adjustment without a foot pump, it's light and thin enough to move back and forth for precise positioning, it makes sitting easier when you want to sit. Getting in or out is no problem. The cushion is enough to sit on for a while (although upgrades or additions to the quality of the material are welcome with almost any seat). It is also height-adjustable so that it can also be used as a lounger or standing chair when standing at the table. I like that it sits on top of the treadmill rather than on the base so the base is always stable on the treadmill. There are no potential rolling scenarios. And one of my favorite features is that I can rotate 90 degrees (or 360 degrees) in any direction and get off easily without having to grab the ball or lift the table to get away. This seat is perfect. Even without a classic chair, this is a great alternative to the sit-stand desk so you can move around whenever you want. Highly recommended, totally unsolicited.
