Sony, King of the Dumb Features

Firstly, this product worked as advertised. It plays all regions of Blu-ray and DVD. What I don't like about it is everything else. This is literally the biggest POS disc player I've ever had. It has a "function" where it turns itself off after about 20 minutes of inactivity. There is no way to set it up or turn it off. This is incredibly annoying. I like to use bluetooth headphones with it and they turn off every time it goes offline. So you'll have to re-pair the headphones, not to mention rewatch all the junk they put at the beginning of the discs. Also, I press any button on the remote and it turns the device on. So you accidentally pressed the button and your player is on. Does Sony really think finding the power button is that hard? To make matters worse, she finds it very difficult to recognize the disk. This should be priority #1 like everything he SHOULD do. I don't care about all the streaming bullshit they spread. I can access this stuff on literally every other device I have. My TV, DVR, Playstation, phone. Why do I need it on my Blu-ray player? So I have to eject and reinsert the disc until it recognizes it, ie until the player freezes. That often happens. So in this case you have to disable it, wait and try again. Oh, if only my disc player played the disc. Complete bullshit, and my last Sony. Update 7/4/19: This player now has a habit of randomly turning off my bluetooth headphones. Also yesterday it refused to connect to my headphones. I was sure it was an issue with the headphones, which bothered me because I really liked them (and they were expensive). On a whim, I tried the old trick of unplugging the Sony player, waiting, and plugging it back in. The next time I tried it, my headphones were connected. Yes, it turns out that the problem lies in that stupid disc player again. Update 10/10/19: My remote control no longer works. I thought he was dead. Batteries aren't a problem. I once had another Sony remote that stopped working. I threw it in the trash. I later read that he needed a "reboot". I didn't know remotes needed to be reset. So I tried that. Three different "meds" I found online. Nothing worked. What to do if nothing helps? Turn off the damn thing. Guess what? My remote works great again. Why do I keep using this door closer? I don't have another non-region player or another bluetooth compatible player.
