I installed this on my truck to replace another aftermarket camera that failed and I tried it without cutting any of the hinges , just to make sure I have to flip the image. I installed at night and found the night vision image was poor but I had to mirror the image as it is used as a backup camera. I also wanted the grid lines so I cut out both the green and white loops as instructed and now when I lay the truck backwards all I get is a black screen. I know it's a camera because when I unplug the camera's video cable, the monitor says "No Signal."
