Broke in sixty seconds

The door lock knob broke on first use. The metal button is attached with very thin plastic. There is a chance that it broke and was returned for resale. We are traveling and returning is not the easiest option. At more than double the price of a similar residential door knob, I was hoping for at least the same quality.
