Review on Chefgadget J45 Cloth Filter Sock by Heather Artis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A little thin, holds up well.

First of all, I don't like the way the measurements are presented. It reads: 4.5 x 3.25. This is exactly IF you include the metal hook portion of the rim where the toe attaches. I think it's ok if you use this with a teapot (ceramic, porcelain etc) or real tea/coffee cup that comes with saucers or is in your crockery set. However, if you want to use it with a mug, you may run into trouble. We brew tons of different types of loose tea. In a cup with a large rim. These socks tend to hang unsteadily inside and on the rim of the cup. If not just right, you have loose tea in your cup. Nobody is to blame as such. At least the measurements, while somewhat deceptive, are *given*. My mistake in assuming it fits in any cup or mug. I bought two of these and use them almost every night. The toe box is a little wobbly as well as the metal rim, but after a few months of use everything is fine. I'm still looking for a bigger sock for my mugs but haven't found one I like yet. Just remember the size when ordering.

Pros
  • Household and kitchen
Cons
  • Good but not great
