I do most of the farm and electrical chores myself and this seems like a pretty good auto range finder for the money. I bought it specifically for testing current, but I've used it many times as a general purpose voltmeter. It doesn't have the Fluke feel and weight, but it's only $25 and works for my needs. This meter only reads AC amps (there are physical differences between AC and DC meters) and you must be able to clamp it with only one "foot" at a time to read amps (e.g. work around hot/neutral/ground clamped together , e.g. IN Romex).
