Review on Arris TM822A Touchstone Docsis 3.0 8x4 Ultra-High Speed Telephony Modem - Product Review & Features by Tyson Burch

Compatible with optimal voice.

I bought this to eliminate Optimum's modem fee. So yes, it is compatible with Optimum. I have Optimum Voice so I needed a modem with a phone jack called a phone modem. That's it. Hardly any retailers sell them, so buy them either here or direct from Arris. I bought it new from DOCSIS Networks. They are ok but their customer service is not the best. They are not that helpful when it comes to tech support. Please note that the "A" version of the TM822 is not supported or guaranteed by Arris. Optimum rents the "G" version. The modem did not come in an Arris box and was not covered by the Arris warranty. It didn't come with an owner's manual or quick start guide. So I'm wondering if that was really new. I've been using it for a little over a month and so far so good. I'll update if I encounter any problems with it.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • too dumb
