You get what you pay for.
I've seen cheaper winter boots for my 5 year old but didn't want to pay $15 less for boots that fall apart in the middle of winter. My son might fit in a 10 but I put him in an 11 to allow him to grow (thanks Revain Wardrobe). I bought them on sale for $41. So far we have been hiking, cycling, running in the rain, running in the mud and his feet stay dry and warm, he can also put them on and take them off easily.
