With no post-purchase return requirement, I had to be resourceful. I made a thick ball of paper the width of an electrical outlet and plugged it in from the "spring" side of the cord. There are electrical contacts on the other side of the spring and the cable is clamped with some force and everything works. I hate doing top coats on the products I buy…

I bought this to extend my desk phone handset so I can get up from my desk and walk to the planning table which is 8 feet away. This cord started pulling my phone off the table and I was only 8 feet away from it. Then again, this cable was brand new and had never stretched before, but I think I can stretch 12 feet before that happens. Under no circumstances will you receive a usage of 25 feet. Maybe 18 if it was super tight? The length is misleading to the general public.
