So I switched from a BenQ 1080p 1ms monitor at 30fps to this IPS monster, which is currently being outperformed by the latest model's little brother. I had a lot of doubts, nervousness and yolo about the IPS lottery idea and had to return the device with too much backlight, dead pixels or other glitches. I will say that the 27 inch screen that I have looks a lot bigger in screen size than my 27 inch BenQ. I suspect it's beautifully thin bezels as my old monitor had 0.5"+ on all sides which didn't bother me. As far as the issues go I consider myself lucky. I'm using DP 1.2 with a Stock GTX 1080 setup with gsync in games and anti-aliasing off. I also set up a color settings profile based on a common set on Reddit for the IPS model. I ran a full color test and couldn't stop grinning at everything. The 4k video on YT almost had me smelling the lush jungle and dusty lions on the screen. I have no dead pixels. I haven't noticed any driver issues. As far as backlight glare goes, this is an IPS monitor so there will be something there. Unfortunately I have I have very little BLB in the lower right corner only the corner that emits about 3-4" when the screen is black or displaying a dark image. Although to be honest the only time I w... really noticed. I had forgotten that it was there until now I wrote this review, at least for me I'm not worried I will say that this model has a problem with some As a result, a very narrow vertical stripe of pixels usually moves from the center of the screen to the right edge of the screen. I've experienced this myself twice since I've had it and all I had to do was turn the power button to off/standby and then turn it back on and it fixed the issue. A very small inconvenience that appeared at startup or almost immediately after. Can I recommend this monitor? If you have $$$ and use it for more than just a daily web browsing monitor and you don't already have a solid IPS monitor from something like a Dell competitor, then go for it. I have a new higher standard that I am now used to and never remember that reality until I look back at the 1080p monitor. Otherwise, 1440p at 144Hz is my new normal. The idea becomes like this: You really never know how privileged you are until you know it. Even an enduring miracle is eventually taken for granted, as is usual and expected. We lose sensitivity to our current miracles. So that's the beauty of this monitor. In other words, don't waste money on peripherals and upgrades that you'll end up losing your sensitivity to. Save, wait for the sale and then jump on this monitor. Enjoy life's journeys, don't exhaust yourself to the bone trying to keep up with cutting-edge technology when you'll only end up having to replace it once. Of course if you have $$$ then enjoy it.
