Review on ๐ŸŽถ DIGITNOW Record Player, Suitcase Turntable with Bluetooth, FM Radio, USB, SD Card Port & Vinyl to MP3 Converter by Carlos Barete

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very cool device at a really great price

There was a problem with the first device received; I called tech support and they sent a replacement the same day! 5 Stars! The second device had the same problem but I found a solution and the device does the job perfectly! 5 Stars! The problem was actually with the instructions (probably also a design flaw): You have to connect the drive belt (rubber band) for the turntable to the rotating stand, which then rotates the turntable. The instructions tell you to wrap the tape around the small plastic spring on the bottom of the platter so you can then position the platter to hook the drive post. You will be told to rotate the platter about a half turn - presumably to loosen the drive belt from the pin to engage the drive post. Didn't happen. Not a half turn, a full turn, a few turns. I thought it was a defective unit, but when a replacement came and had the same problem, I got a little more aggressive in trying to figure out the problem. The drive belt just wouldn't disengage from the peg, but I was able to lift the platter just enough to slip my pinky finger between the platter and the base and disengage the belt from the peg. That's it, problem solved. I'm surprised I didn't read anything about it in the reviews! Net: -1 star. Now as for the device itself, I was very impressed with how they managed to make the player (which also records!) so simple and economical. But don't expect much from it as a turntable - where it shines is in digitally recording your old vinyl and storing it as mp3 files on a USB stick or mini SD card. I forwarded old 45s (most of you probably don't even know what that is LOL) and albums. Playing back the songs gave surprisingly good results on both old mono 45s and stereo albums. Very little disc or cartridge noise and fairly compact file sizes. If you don't have high audiophile demands, you'll get along well with a very economical way of handing over old recordings to posterity.

Pros
  • Headphone jack for private listening and RCA line out for speakers. Auxiliary input and Bluetooth to connect other devices (CD, Ipod, Iphone, etc.).
Cons
  • Dear
