One of the best halters for dogs, a bit too big.

I have used many styles of dog halters over the years. There are a few features I like about it. A little padding over the muzzle is a nice touch. The neck strap around the dog's head is adjustable, as is the muzzle strap to which the leash is attached. Once properly fitted, it is very easy to put on and use. Cheek pads help keep the halter in the correct position regardless of dog breed. The cheek straps sit low on the dog's muzzle, so don't worry about them rubbing your eyes. The improved design also helps keep the halter in place if the dog backs away or tries to remove the halter by slipping off the neck strap. There is a safety tab that attaches to a regular dog collar. So if the dog manages to slip off the halter, your dog will still be on the leash. And yes, it is recommended to use this "secure link" for extra security. The sizes are great. I usually have several sizes for teaching and demonstrations. Although the large size is indicative of the breed I bought it for (Rottweiler) I found the medium size to be a much better fit. Measurement instructions are clear. Use measurements, not breed, as every dog is different. Now I have a medium and a large, but there are just more gear options in my trainer's toolbox. If your dog is already used to wearing a head halter, you shouldn't have any trouble adjusting to it. If your dog has never worn a headgear, introduce it slowly and with plenty of treats to make it a positive experience for your dog. Some dogs will rub their nose or paw on the halter when this is a new experience. This collar is effective when your dog pulls on the leash. For someone who is small, frail or weak, or someone with a large, noisy dog, this Opti Fit Halti collar will ensure a comfortable dog walk. pulls on the leash. Training on a loose leash, walking politely should be the goal. There are other pieces of equipment that can also help prevent overexertion, such as: B. Front seat belts.
