I bought this halti and the original for my Great Dane and the original fits much better. The Optifit needs constant adjustment, the cut at the neck is too tight and the cut behind the ears falls off. It might just be the odd shape of a Great Dane's head, but the original works better. I also hate how bulky this thing's nose is. The original is soft but not as bulky for the dog.

Terrible. The nose is wrong!

Terrible. We have halters, halters and soft halters for the head. They are amazing! This HALTI is terrible. Group more than 1st, ok. What makes Tgis terrible is the nose. Something like a piece of tape is sewn to the main body. The bow is then no longer attached to the rest of the halter. This is how it slides sideways over my dog's nose. I noticed this when I tried it on my dog. However, I prefer the doubt. When we went for a walk I felt terrible for my dog. The nose continued to move sideways

Stop pulling your dog immediately!

This collar works MUCH better than the original Gentle Leader I have. I have a 60 pound pit bull and the Gentle Leader kept leaving horrible marks on his face, but that's also due to his breed - they have bigger jaws than other small breeds. Because it's so strong and so much easier to distract, I always made sure to do it in Gentle Leader in public because there was no safety rail. With this Haiti OptiFit head collar there is a safety clip that can also be attached to your dog's collar so god…

FINALLY a solution!

I was hesitant to buy this and invest more money in something that wouldn't work for my *extremely* strong dog. It actually worked like magic. My Labradoodle is fairly trainable except when it comes to pulling the leash. I swear she could confuse me if I'm not 100% careful. I have tried everything from a very short leash to a choke collar but nothing has worked. She almost choked on both without even knowing why. With this collar on, she realizes that the pulling is her fault and stops…

Edgar is almost 2 years old and weighs 72 pounds and Halti has solved our walking problems. No more pulling and pulling! No he didn't like the device at first but now he connects it to good things and works damn well when I put it on him. He always walked "decently" with me alone, but when I took another dog with me, everything was impossible. Edgar was like a fly on her. Well, it wasn't fun. For me or for my other dog! He pulled, jumped, played, bit her neck and so on the whole walk. Now he's…

Very well done but no wonder

I took a 50lb boxer/pit mix and after 8 months trying to train her on a leash with a regular collar or harness I decided that my hands and arms took a bit to get them, didn't pull that tight. We used Halti on my Malamute growing up and it worked well so I thought I'd give this pup a try. I did my research and settled on this haltie because my husband was already worried about all the leashes, collars and harnesses we tried and all the money wasted on things that didn't work. The price is great…

One of the best halters for dogs, a bit too big.

I have used many styles of dog halters over the years. There are a few features I like about it. A little padding over the muzzle is a nice touch. The neck strap around the dog's head is adjustable, as is the muzzle strap to which the leash is attached. Once properly fitted, it is very easy to put on and use. Cheek pads help keep the halter in the correct position regardless of dog breed. The cheek straps sit low on the dog's muzzle, so don't worry about them rubbing your eyes. The improved…

Halti vs Gentle Leader

We have a 4 year old purebred German Shepherd weighing 120 pounds. He is by no means overweight and is much larger than most of his breed. Our problem with his walking is that he likes to chase birds and squirrels. The collar gives us more control and draws his attention back to walking when he is excited and wants to chase something while walking. I know halti is meant to be a temporary training device, but our dog is going to need a collar forever because it's a lot easier to control him that

The pros outweigh the cons, I would buy again.

I purchased this product about 4.5 months ago and was really looking forward to reviewing it to see how it would hold up and hold up over time. For starters, I just bought a new one, which is good and bad. Bad because it broke (see below) but good because I liked it so much I bought it again. Quick Summary: There are certainly some cons that deserve attention, but almost all of them can be avoided with PROPER use of the product and sizing. When used correctly, this is a wonderful tool. Pros: I…
