Like many others, I set it up and set it to "Auto" and it didn't turn on. After some research I found out that it needs to go through an "off" cycle before it starts cycling for the specified time. It's good when you don't need it. A workaround for immediate automatic use is to set the time slightly ahead of the current time, finish programming any times you want, set to auto, and exit setup. After switching on, change the current day's switch-on time to the desired time. Viola! Problem solved. All in all a great timer that does what it's supposed to.
