Review on πŸ•· Coghlan's Bug Jacket: Ultimate Protection from Insects and Bugs by Yolanda Williams

The bites that went were often worse than usual

Overall, the jacket reduced the number of mosquito bites I got; However, I have occasionally bitten through while gardening and the material has sometimes pressed against my skin. Bites that went away were often worse than usual. It turned out that the mosquito broke off mid-sting because the material shifted slightly as I moved, leading to repeated attempts and clusters of bites in the same place. This was especially a problem on the shoulders when wearing a tank top. Instead, I put on a t-shirt, which was not so comfortable in the heat due to the extra layer of the jacket. The hood is bulky when I'm not wearing a hat to keep the material from getting in my eyes and reducing clarity of vision. It would be nice if some sort of rigid light frame were added to the hood to keep the material out of your face and a transparent plastic window placed at eye level to improve the clarity of the view. Overall the jacket is great for relatively short trips in the garden when I don't want to wear a repellent, but not ideal for busy gardening in hot weather.

Pros
  • It's all right!
Cons
  • Some difficulties
