Bought for two IKEA bedside lamps - when they were in the kit they worked fine but when the second was installed the main part fell off the base. I definitely didn't over tighten, I just screwed it all the way in and the glass just started spinning in the metal base and then broke off. I had to use pliers to pull out the metal base. Fortunately, this did not damage the lamp. I was a lot softer adding the next band and it works great.
