These hangers are perfect for pictures of any size. For small paintings we usually use hangers or wire, but for larger paintings these hangers ensure that the painting is attached to the wall and stays level at all times. We ended up buying several sets and hanging all of our large paintings (and a few smaller ones). The kit also includes a bumper that keeps the painting flat against the wall. To hang a picture, measure about a third (especially for large pictures) from each side of the frame. I used a T level to make sure I drew a straight line on the frame and the lines on each side of the frame are flush with each other. Then align the keyhole bracket with the line on the frame. Drill a pilot hole for the top bracket hole (I used a 3/32 bit). Screw in the bracket, making sure it is perpendicular to the frame. Drill the bottom pilot hole and screw in the bottom screw. Repeat for the opposite side of the frame. Pay close attention to your alignments. Attach the rubber bumper to the center of the lower frame. Insert the hanger on one side and twist to lock. Take the picture from the front and touch each bracket with your finger. Place the picture on the wall and press the hanger against the wall with your palm. The hanger will make a dent in the drywall. Remove the hanger and nail it to the drywall. Note that the hanger is nailed down (not to the side as it appears when it's secured in the bracket). I preferred to use a 4 foot spirit level to set up the large picture, otherwise a small spirit level on the frame. Place the second hanger in the bracket and twist until it clicks into place. Again, place your hands at the same level as the hangers (this makes it easier to find the hanger with your finger and hang the picture). Hang the painting on the first bracket and align the painting. Make sure the hanger is fully inserted into the keyhole. Line up the painting and press the second hanger against the wall to create a notch. Slide the image up to remove it from the first keyhole bracket hanger and remove the image. Remove the bracket from the hanger by turning it sideways and nail the second bracket to the wall. Install the painting, making sure the hanger is fully inserted into the keyhole. The image should now be perfectly aligned and fixed. hanging happily
