Great experience with these light weight faucets!

We were given these roosters to try our hand at making maple syrup for the first time this year. The kids and I enjoyed trying it. The price was reasonable for a 10 pack so we didn't think we had much to lose. In the package was a guide that helped us drill a hole in the trees. We used old milk and juice jugs and drilled a hole in their lids to hold the hose in place and keep dirt out. It worked very well! The length of the tubes was really good - we didn't have to lean that far to tap the trees - we made them at a good height and we still had enough room to let them hang down and go into the jars . I'm a bit skeptical that faucets don't work as well as metal faucets - that's the only kind I've seen. But these plastic taps were very well made! After knocking on our trees (after watching a YouTube video) I realized we'd banged them too hard against the tree - I thought they were supposed to go all the way in - but they just have to be neat. I was worried it would be very difficult for us to get them out because we did, but we used a pry bar and got them out with no problem. We were delighted with the great success of our first tapping attempt. :)
