Review on Waterproof Electrical Junction Box - TICONN IP67 ABS Plastic Enclosure With Hinged Cover And Mounting Plate by Dave Albright

Well designed and solid construction.

I ordered this box to use in my workshop. My home is entirely powered by solar/batteries. My workshop has power tools that would simply overwhelm my solar power system so the workshop is normally powered by the Grid. The TICONN Electrical Box is very well designed and constructed. It comes with the hardware needed to prepare the box for installation. It does not provide fasteners to connect the Box to a wall.I do not see any UL markings. This is not a problem in my situation. The NEC (National Electrical Code) does not require that connection boxes be UL Listed. However, it specifies that connection boxes must meet AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements. Some AHJ require connection boxes have a UL listing. This means that some local city inspector may not like this box as much as I do.I have installed a switch in the box that can change the workshop power source from GRID to SOLAR. There are times when I have an abundance of solar power that is able to meet the demands of the power tools I am using at a specific time. I like putting my solar power to use running power tools to make things. It was necessary to mount this switch on an outside wall where it is subject to rain. The box is large enough to contain the switch and allow movement of the handle in either direction.Installation was easy and I appreciate the design of the box as well as its impeccable construction.
