No worse than the original Hakko tips? May be!

Soldering tips are difficult to check - they either work properly or they don't. To be honest I bought this set more for the tip holder than the tips but I thought what the heck! I'll try. I had three original Hakko tips that matched three ShineNow tips, so I tested these tips individually. Here's what I found. The Hakko tips seem to heat up quicker than the tips in this kit, but no more than 10 seconds. However, after being reheated and "seasoned" like you would with a new tip, the ShineNow tips performed just as well as the Hakko tips. I was surprised and had to check if I was using a Hakko or ShineNow tip. Are they as good as original Hakko tips? Probably not, but in my brief tests they seemed pretty damn close. The average person. Even for a pro, ShineNow tips are well done and will likely do the job. I'm sticking with Hakko myself. But I solder a lot and really want to make sure everything works when I want it to. For the average hobbyist, ShineNow tips are great and a great low cost alternative to expensive branded tips. In terms of shipping, they came very quickly and were professionally packaged. For the price, it doesn't get much better than ShineNow soldering tips.
