The device arrived well before the promised date. Although well packaged, the inlet fitting on the first filter housing broke, probably because the box looked like it had fallen on its side. No problem as it's a 90 thread and inserting a 10" flathead screwdriver didn't come out. If this happens to you, be sure to wrap 3 turns of tape around the new one. And guess what! You get 2 spares in the package, the instructions don't mention this, but the little blue 3/4 ring on the fittings has a raised lip so it can be removed and the cross lock can be unlatched so you can remove the hose and reuse the fittings. You also get 3 spares just in case. This is only the first day of use and we will be testing the water while at the well but I am expecting good results and will update this review as needed. As for the supplier, excellent support! Had to ask a few questions and email response was excellent. When I emailed to make sure the broken fitting was fixed, I got a call with a response within an hour. At this point I highly recommend this unit. If you have low water pressure, buy a unit with a booster pump. It has been 5 1/2 months now and I can only admire this unit. The ice maker does not clog, the ice does not smell. The cat fountain stays much cleaner, and as an added benefit, we no longer need a filter in our desktop humidifier, saving us about $100 per season, and very little cleaning is required. 09/23/2013 A year has passed and I've just done my annual filter change and UV lamp change and I'm still happy about it.
