Too bright! But as others have said, it can easily be "turned off" by covering the LED with tape or paper. I was pleasantly surprised by the pleasing hue of these lights - a lovely neutral white. The description says 2700-3000K but it's definitely closer to 4000K or more. Still good for the bedroom or really anywhere. Again, they are very bright for night lighting. I put one in my 22x26ft garage and it's great! I can walk, take out the trash, put on my shoes, go to my desk, etc. without tripping over things. If your eyes are adapted to the night, e.g. For example, waking up in the middle of the night, the brightness becomes even more excessive. For the hallways in my house I had to wrap the dome about 6 times with a strip cut out of a piece of paper and then tape over the LED to dim the brightness. The bonus was that it softened it very well so there weren't a few "streaks" of light from the clear coat. I can't comment on her life yet, so hopefully I won't be reporting her dead again any time soon.
