Review on πŸ”Œ LiteFuze LC-300US: Efficient 300W Step Up/Down Travel Voltage Converter with US Cord - 5-Year Warranty Included by Jeff Kersey

The plug will not work in US outlets.

US style (NEMA 5-15) plug so it can be used to INCREASE standard voltage from 110-120 VAC US 50/60 Hz to European 220-240 VAC 50/60 VAC. However, it did come with a European plug (CEE 7/7). Also, there are no illustrations of the jack or the input voltage switch in the manual, and the latter is very poorly labeled. This is an orange switch with markings simply stamped on the plastic, indistinguishable from orange. I had to use a magnifying glass to see the "15" and "30" markings on the switch (I assume 15 means 115 VAC and 30 means 230 VAC). So my first thought was to just cut off CEE. 7/7 and replace it with NEMA 5-15, but I don't know the European color codes for hot, neutral, and ground wires (black, white, and green in the US respectively), so some research is needed. However, I still have a 2-prong adapter from my last US Air Force tour in Germany 35 years ago that may work (albeit not grounded) until I can identify the correct wiring to replace the plug or get that adapter : https://www.amazon.com/Schuko-euro-5-15P-Power-Adapter/dp/B01INRNK80Update: Forget the adapter because the shipping costs are 5x higher!

Pros
  • . Please choose the 115V switch if you use it in USA and make sure you switch to 230V if you use it abroad.
Cons
