First of all, I don't fly often, and I don't even fly very often! I bought this bag because I was concerned that the duffel bag I used to use would be too big to fit on it. I love the way this bag looks, it's well made and seems to be quite versatile. I used it to carry a 14 inch laptop, charger, toiletries, change of clothes and a heavy coat. Everything fit in perfectly including my itinerary which was easily accessible. I could hold it on the floor in front of me. Although it didn't seem to fit all the way under the seat in front of me, it was fine. It was nice to be able to keep him with me on the first plane. On one of my next flights, a propeller jet for a short time. /2 hour flight, it easily fits in the luggage compartment. Overall it did what I needed it to do and fit nicely in the trunk of a small 2018 MX-5 RF Club that I drove almost 500 miles to get new. I didn't use a shoulder strap, although that would have made it easier to carry it from one end of Portland to the other for a long walk. Haven't used it as a backpack yet, although it may be the best way to carry it as I've seen many experienced aviators use backpacks.
