I bought a 5 inch aluminum model for my 2011 heavy truck. Although it looks great and is very easy to install (it took about 1 minute), the reception is not very good. I drive through the canyon every day on my way to work. With my standard antenna my radio would just break down and get a bit static, with this one I lose signal completely for about 3 miles of driving. Driving through the canyon into town it works great, but to say it's as good or better than the factory antenna would be a lie. If you live in the city and don't have problems with reception, this antenna would be ideal for you. If you live out of town or, like me, have areas with inconsistent reception, you have to ask yourself whether aesthetics are more important than functionality. I'll stick with mine for now, at least until I find something better.
