I am very careful when I buy anything, especially plastic, because of all the toxic things out there these days. When I received this order of straws I immediately sniffed and even tried the unwashed one to see if I could detect any toxic smells or tastes and I found nothing. I do this because I have children and I don't want toxic chemicals in their developing bodies. I can say that I did not find anything poisonous in the straws. I don't know how my olfactory and gustatory skills compare to a real consumer products lab, but it works for me. They are very thick and seem to hold up to repeated use. The colors and designs are cool and should go well with my son's upcoming birthday party.
