High Performance Ultra Wide Angle Lens for Crop Sensor Camera Body

Are you looking for an ultra wide angle lens for your Canon crop sensor camera? This must be taken into account. The lens itself is of high quality. It's a bold combination of glass and metal. It feels like this thing can handle anything. The picture quality is not satisfactory. With an opening of 12mm, it's a bit softer in the corners than we'd like, but that diminishes as you stop. In the rest of the focal length range, this lens is quite sharp. I thought about it when I bought it and the Canon EFS 10-22 - the Sigma 10-20 and Tamron 11-18 just didn't have the rave reviews that Canon and Tokina shared. With both I had very comparable picture results. Aside from the price difference, the constant f/4 aperture was one of the factors why I chose the Tokina over the Canon. If you are considering a Tokina lens, you can't go wrong in my opinion. This is a quality artist at a reasonable price. As with all photographic equipment, you should test it out at your local camera shop to see if it's right for you.
