Original review: I have mixed feelings about this robot. I compare it with another model from another Xiaomi store, also sold on Amazon. I start with the good things. This vacuum seems to clean just as well as my other model that costs about $150 more. He has lidar navigation so he can map the room which also allows him to clean up in an orderly manner. It appears to have the same bells and whistles as other more expensive models. Now for the bad. This robot looks far from perfect. Even though it has lidar, it appears to be moving and banging hard against walls and furniture. He doesn't seem to see her. As soon as it hits a wall, it corrects its course and moves along the wall. This is strange because when tracking with the application, he seems to see a wall or furniture in front of him. Second, the robot only has one map option (although the description suggests 3 will be supported in the future). At the moment this isn't a very good cleaner if you have a multi-story building as it gets confused when you move to another floor and starts adding rooms to the same map. Third. Although the robot maps the space, it wasn't able to divide the floor plan into separate rooms and it was cumbersome to do it manually. I keep getting error messages like "Area is less than 1 square meter. However, at the moment I don't think it's a good investment. I'll update my review if the seller/manufacturer fixes these imperfections. It looks like it will Got to market before it was finished I'm considering returning it Update 1: I'm increasing my rating to four stars The cons I mentioned in my original review are still relevant but I've had more time with them Spent time on this vacuum and compared it to another model (with a claimed suction power of 2000 Pa. This vacuum seems to perform better in terms of cleaning efficiency on carpets. I have no way of accurately measuring the suction power of either but the D9 does picks up more dust at the end of the cycle for which I give an extra star Also note that the vacuum cleaner finishes the cleaning process quicker eats The manufacturer also contacted me to answer questions I raised in my original review. They have promised to fix this issue in a future software update due out in January. The manufacturer responded to my letter promptly. I'll add another star for that. When the product gets the multi-level map update, it will be a great product. Update 2: I've had this robot for about a month now. After my initial review, the robot received a firmware update that fixes many of the navigation issues I described in my original review. The robot no longer crashes into walls and furniture at full speed, but slows down when it hits an obstacle. I'm still waiting for multi-level support and hope it comes soon.
