Review on πŸ”₯ BLUE FLAME 9XTL - Multi Purpose Mapp & Propane Torch with 3 Nozzles/Tips, Built-In Ignition, Flow Regulator, and Flame Lock by Andy Mitts

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well, very comfortable but slightly larger/heavier than a normal burner head.

Works as advertised - ignites instantly and maintains a stable flame at any angle and in any position. Before writing this review I have only used a propane tank (haven't tried it with MAPP gas yet) for various small plumbing and flare roof projects. There are two ways to cut off the gas supply - either release the trigger or close the valve handle. Most convenient - you can turn off the gas supply by releasing the trigger, and leave the valve in the set position so you don't have to re-adjust it for later use - just squeeze and hold the trigger to shut again ignite, then release the trigger to kill the flame. This is ideal for quick, short burns. The trigger lock makes it easy to use for extended periods, so you can focus on the real work and not the flashlight. The only downside I can see is that this torch head is significantly larger (and slightly heavier) than the basic valve only head, so fitting it in tight spaces or a toolbox can be a little less convenient. However, flame stability and integrated ignition with start/stop button more than justify the size/weight increase. The flashlight's plastic body seems fairly strong but probably won't take a lot of abuse, but if you take good care of your tools it will last for many years and I would recommend it for most light to moderate users.
