Review on Partman Fuel Pump for Johnson Evinrude 6HP-15HP Outboard Motors: 388685 18-7350 OMC Replacement - 9-35350 JE-FK10 by Noe Spooner

The knurled screw for the filter/intake plate was obviously knocked out of the packaging. I blew into the pump to see if it was leaking fuel and blew all the air back to me through the thumbscrew hole. I tried tightening the thumbscrew but it snapped off immediately. Removal of the filter plate confirmed that the threads were completely stripped. Knurled Free Spins are no longer sealed. Complete nonsense. Judging by the reviews, others had the same problem. This is my second pump from a second manufacturer. In other aftermarkets, the outlet is not drilled. Buy an OEM/reliable brand or be prepared to forgo parts/returns if you want to save a few bucks.
