If you can't get the perfect 90 degree angle and insert the hex wrench into the hex head, rip it off, which I did by trying to tighten one of the bolts. Why not a Phillips head or a simple nut and bolt? How about at least one piece of additional hardware? The mirrors themselves work well, yielding when driven through bush, but can handle winds in excess of 40mph. My Honda has cruise control and doesn't go faster than 70 km/h. I recommend this product, just be careful with the gear.
