Review on πŸ’ͺ Efficient Pitman Arm Puller: OTC (8150) Conical Design for Easy Removal by Greg Sullivan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

ideal for bipod arms and other suspension parts; Also consider 4964, 6735 or 539885

This is a larger version of 8149. I used 8149 for less traction on a 1965 Mustang but it was too small to fit on. 2001 Dodge 2500 Van Arm. 8150 fits well. The center can be removed, which is useful when the tool needs to be slightly off-center. This tool is also good for removing tie rod ends and intermediate links and in some cases ball joints. This same size tool with some modifications is sold as 4964 for Polaris ball joints and is included in Sprinter Ball Set 6735 (sold separately as 539885). The tool appears to be of the highest quality, heavy, thick and well constructed so I expect it can handle very hard work. The neckline is approximately 1.5" wide at the front and approximately 1.25" deep. The 8150 has a slight chamfer in the bore compared to the 8149 which doesn't which can make a difference if what you are getting is close to the bore size. See attached photos for comparison. The one I received was made in China.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Hard to tell
