I bought this product, like many others, so that my travel air conditioner could run at 20A and it would work properly. The best part was the customer support! The website includes a one line diagram showing how to connect the SoftStart RV to an AC unit and they offer real time customer phone support to help with installation or with any questions. Danny (my technician) was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. One of the best interactions I've had with the customer service department. Update: After installing my SoftStart, I had an issue with my iGen2500 overloading and realized it was probably related to my inverter. I spoke to Danny again and he said it could take 2 to 6 amps to get the inverter running as well as the AC to run. It's a little misleading to say that the soft start allows you to use a 20A circuit when both the compressor and the inverter require a 20A limit or more. I kept my AC soft start because it allows me to run a 20 amp circuit, but to use a generator I have to buy a 3000 or higher.
