Great fan, easy setup!

I've been looking for a good smart fan for a long time and this one is really fun! The area is cooler and the air conditioning doesn't work as hard. This fan is advertised as built into my Ecobee thermostat so I took a chance. The price is pretty decent compared to alternatives I've seen. Note, however, that if you want to use the app and its 'smart' features, there is an additional fee of $10 per fan for this benefit. I admit this is probably my only real complaint. If you don't need 3rd party app/Alexa/thermostat integration, don't pay this fee. So about installing a fan. These are very high quality parts that don't look cheap. It feels solid and attaches securely. The installation instructions were quite simple. I just noticed one small quirk: by default, the WiFi SSID was not enabled in broadcast mode, and my guide didn't mention it. The updated book on the WAC Lighting website has several additional pages of instructions, one of which is to hold down the Light Power + Season buttons for a few seconds until the fan beeps and starts broadcasting. When I discovered this, the in-app setup was also very easy. The remote control is very easy to use. On/off and brightness up/down buttons, fan on/off and speed up/down buttons and season selector to choose between summer/winter mode. The app supports the same functions, as well as integration with Alexa, Ecobee, etc. The fan itself is silent. Even at maximum speed I can't hear any engine noise etc. At maximum setting I can faintly hear real air if I get close enough, but anything below or above a few feet is completely silent. I'm still checking if the Ecobee integration works or not. At the moment I only use the fan in normal "on" mode. The Alexa functionality works as expected as it's configured like smart home devices and not just complex skill commands. In other words, "Alex, turn on/off the living room fan" and "Alexa, set the living room fan speed to <1-6>" work fine. I didn't buy a light module because I already have several lamps. in my room but nice to know it's an easy addition later if I want. Anyway, the bottom line is that I'm already very happy with this fan, and despite the pesky app fees, it's still a great value.
