Review on Proform 66773 Rod Splitting Tool by Stephen Thomas
Fits large rods only
This splitter works fine but cranks are better off if they are 2.25 or larger in diameter at the big end. Is it too big for a Chevy 489 Big Block? No way does this work on any small blocks. It only fits my cranks without bearings. After checking the play in the bearing, I can't use it to split the stem with the bearing installed. Whoever came up with that is an idiot. Make it 1.75 inches
