This heater has lasted me 55 gallons for 2 years. I never really had to worry about it. I was confident that it would withstand any temperature. Note that the temperature on the heater does not match the temperature in the tank. I used a separate thermometer to set the temperature. Today this heater turned out quite spectacular. Do some basic tank maintenance, stick my hand in, bam. Big shock. I was so surprised that I almost knocked over the whole tank. Everything looked good at first glance. I check the equipment when I turn off the power to the tank and I see the little light on the heater flashing green and then red. We turn everything off, take out the heater and it completely falls apart. Honestly, I don't understand how my fish and residents are okay, but wins are few here.
